The Scan Prep Color Process

Video Notes

Assignment

  • Review the techniques and videos from class this week.
  1. On paper, create a brand new 6" by 6" drawing. Your prompt is "fall", any take on the subject of a fall. I want you to intentionally create a brand new drawing with the intent that you will be scanning it and digitally coloring it with Photoshop. The way you work will always inform how you work 😉.
    • Draw your linework (a composition or parts) on paper.
    • Scan your linework using the processes discussed in class. No phone photos this week.
    • Using the techniques discussed in class, digitally color your shadow drawing using Photoshop.
    • Pro tip! You should be able to color your drawing without using a log of blend modes. Use multiply only if you really need it.
    • Upload your original scans AND your layered Photoshop source file to the Google Drive folder: Will be updated
