Class:MFA Illustration 2019/Week 12
Last Week
- RAW photography workflows with Lightroom and Photoshop
- Basic photo editing and capturing accurate color for illustrators
- Basic image retouching in Lightroom and Photoshop
This Week
- Photoshoot at Adobe
Notes
I sent you all a Dropbox invite to a directory with all the raw files from the Monday photoshoot. Please check and if you did not get it, let me know right away.
You all have view/download access to the full set (over 1k) of photos. These are all .dng raw files which means that the color profile I quickly made to calibrate the proper colors is applied and embedded in the file. Feel free to change anything, just wanted to let you know it was there.
You can open these directly in Photoshop or install and import them into Lightroom where you can edit the settings non destructively and then open in Photoshop.

Assignment
Use the techniques shared in class last week to create two things:
- A lightly retouched photograph of yourself
- Select one of the images shot in class this week.
- Lightly retouch the image (black and white or color)
- Bring in & upload the layered photoshop file.
- Create an illustrated composition around one of the photos of yourself. Add a handful of hand-drawn bits and pieces (using any of the techniques shown this semester) to transform it into something illustrated and amazing.
- Bring in & upload the layered photoshop file and/or Fresco .psd file.
We will review any in-progress on Monday, December 2nd, final hand-off will be on December 6th.
