Assignment
I spent some time thinking about our class on Monday and the assignment. I want to revise the expectations for next week. The final review of your web projects was the priority on Monday; this did not leave enough time for a respectful overview of MailChimp (newsletter app), and I was caught off guard by their recent changes ☹️.
You do not have to create and send a newsletter by next week.
- Here is what I would like you to do
- Any final final tweaks to your website. Swap in those new project images, clean up those headers, search online (or bug me) for those fiddly custom spacing, or display challenges.
- If your website is not live, make it so! Remember that you don't transfer your domain to the web hosting service, follow the directions to "connect it".
- Hook up Google Analytics. I will post the video from our session this week to the wiki if you want to see the overview again.
- Prepare the content for your newsletter assignment. I am going to assume that you have all received at least one newsletter from an illustrator. You need some copy to announce your new website or project; it can be real or playful and silly. You need to have your branding at the top or bottom, make the graphics now. You need to have some illustrations (ay least one) in your newsletter. Make that this week, and it will be used next week. Possibly even in class 😉.
