This week I shared a basic overview on getting your own website domain, transferring your domain to a proper domain host, and where to look to set up a proper email account.

  • If you are one of those people who clicked "yes" on needing to look at domains or set up email. Now is the time to start taking action!

Consider this your pre-read. I will ask you for a status update. I expect a thumbs up or questions. I will help each of you if needed.

Business card & postcard

As mentioned in class, your assignment for next week is not to create a NEW thing, but to spend the proper amount of time pushing your postcard and business card designs into one cohesive presentation!

"How do you hide your visual signature in everything you make?"

  • A ‘standard’ business card is 3.5” x 2”
  • A ‘standard’ postcard is 4” x 6” or 4.25” x 6”
  • You do not have to use standards but you will need to explain the logic.
Expectations
You will refine the designs based on last week's discussions.
You will have business cards & postcards (anything beyond that is extra credit).
You will focus on one direction or if you have ideas/questions you will work on and present multiple choices.
Your files will be at actual size, with the actual future contact information for your domain and email

For next week

  1. Refine your business card & postcard options, you are expected to present the proper amount of variations to share your process (front & back).
  • Put all of your designs in one Adobe Illustrator file for presentation. You can use a presentation app like google slides, keynote, etc... if you want to present.
  • You will be presenting your work to the group, open crit.
