Assignment

Your card is often your visual first impression, a chance to impress future friends, patrons, and clients with your skills and clarity. Now that we have used the postcards to start a formal dialog between your identity and your work, it’s time to trim off 70% of your working area and identify what’s left.

Your business card should be a perfect blend of form and function; you are handing off a functional document that should inspire people to contact you and inform them how you prefer to be followed.

For our next class you must make any changes to your postcard that you feel need to be made as well as four separate trimmed business card comps.

- A ‘standard’ business card is 3.5” x 2”, you can stray from the ‘standard,’ but you will be explaining. - We will be discussing the costs associated with printing or making 500 cards. - Use both sides, 4/1 or 4/4, or spot color is up to you. - Have fun, play with layout, composition, and a sample of your work.
