Assignment

Use the Adobe Illustrator techniques shown in class (this week and previous weeks) to create a new original Adobe Illustrator drawing.

  • Step one: Select one of your favorite "Old Master" paintings.
  • Step two: Select one of the vector-based Illustration artists above. Study their style and technique.
  • Step three: Create a new 100% Adobe Illustrator drawing, inspired by the painting in step one, using the techniques learned from the artist in step two.

Create one new Illustrator composition:

  • Match the aspect ratio of the original painting, with the shortest edge being 8 inches.
  • Create a document with bleed.
  • Your drawing should incorporate the color palette from the painting.
  • These drawings should be 100% Adobe Illustrator, no Adobe Draw.

Bring one Adobe Illustrator files to class or upload it to the Google Drive folder.
